CHANEL presents a new publication that retraces the development of its Haute Couture from the early twentieth century to the present. The project is edited by Sofia Coppola, whose long association with the House began at the age of fifteen during a summer internship in the CHANEL Creation Studio in Paris. Over the years, this relationship expanded into multiple creative collaborations, culminating in this volume where Coppola applies her distinct method of visual composition.

The book brings together fashion photography, previously unpublished sketches, backstage documents and archival material. It structures a visual timeline that includes Gabrielle Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard, highlighting how each period contributed to the identity of Chanel Haute Couture. The selection features friends of the House and models from various decades, photographed by leading names in fashion image-making.

Developed with the support of CHANEL, the book was designed by Anamaria Morris for Joseph Logan Design. It is co-published by Éditions 7L and Important Flowers, Sofia Coppola’s publishing imprint under MACK. With 450 pages, the volume operates as a comprehensive reference point for the aesthetic and technical progression of Chanel Haute Couture.
